Meet Reagan! She’s a marketing intern here at Bloguettes, and has a passion for all things having to do with travel! A few summers ago, she had the chance to travel to England, France and Italy. It was her first time out of the country, and she was able to gather a few tips and tricks from her experience! Read along as Reagan gives you 4 tips to help you plan your next trip abroad!
Research, Research, Research!
Prior to planning your adventures, research the best hotel or rental that fits your budget and map out the surroundings. If you’re traveling to Europe, there are many forms of public transportation that can get you to those must-see spots. However, if public transportation is not as accessible, try to find a central location that allows you to walk to all your desired destinations. Procrastinating will only lead to extra stress on your vacay, so be sure to get a head start by setting aside time to research before!
Create An Itinerary
It may be cliché to say, but sitting down and planning out your trip can save you so much time. There are many things to see no matter where the location, so planning ahead is your best bet at seeing everything on your bucket list. For example, if you’re traveling to Europe, a great tip is to create a list for every country you will be visiting, along with your top five must-see locations. Although your plans might change, creating an itinerary can help days run more smoothly.
Don’t Rack Up The Data
We all love sharing our experiences on social media, especially while on vacation. If traveling abroad is in your near future, take the time to research cell phone plans for your travel location. Our beloved Wi-Fi can be found in a cute coffee shop or restaurant, but once that connection is lost, you could be too. So, purchasing a cell phone plan for the country you are traveling to can be a wise decision. While this is not a necessity, it’s definitely something to consider when traveling across the pond.
No Money, More Problems
After all of the planning is finished and your trip is soon approaching, one question that is often asked is, “How much money do I really need?”. The biggest difference you will face when traveling abroad is the drastic exchange rate. Downloading an exchange rate app, such as XE Currency from the App Store, can come in handy. This will keep you informed on the exchange rate between US dollars and the currency your location uses. Also, be sure to wait until a few days before your trip to convert your money, as this should be your final step when preparing for your trip abroad. Now, all that’s left to do is pack for your fun-filled trip abroad!
