Whether people want to admit it or not, they LOVE getting emails. And no, not just your regular emails. Emails that inform, inspire, and provide exclusive information right to the comfort of their inbox. Email marketing is a proven (and more or less, timeless) way to reach your audience and prospective customers. Plus, it’s one of the best ways to build brand loyalty and long-term relationships. Use these tips to help grow your email list!
1. Make Your Opt-In Process Easy-Peasy
When people come to your website or blog, what does the process look like when someone wants to sign up for an email? Does a pop-up window show up asking them to subscribe, or do they have to find a link or text box to input their email on their own? Once they find this location, do you just ask for their email, or do you ask for other information as well? Take all of these “steps” into consideration. The more “steps” there are for a user to subscribe to your email list, the more likely they’ll get lost in the process and give up. To make this as easy as possible, put a lead page or a pop-up window on your website that simply asks your website’s visitors for their email address.
2. Create An Offer For New Leads
One of the best ways to get email addresses is to offer users something in exchange for signing up for your email list. Find out what your audience is truly interested in and create a free e-book or downloadable that they can ONLY receive access to if they provide you with their email address. 3. Add Your Subscribe Link To Your Employees’ Email Signatures
If your employees are constantly emailing clients, sponsors, and other leads, have them add a link in their email signature to subscribe to your company’s emails! This link should take users to a landing page where they can easily opt-in to your email list. You can get as creative as you want with this call-to-action, so feel free to break the rules!
4. Leverage Your Company’s YouTube Channel
If your company or blog has a YouTube channel, there are SO many ways to lead users from your channel to your email list. Ask users to subscribe to your emails via calls-to-action in video cards and URLs in your video descriptions. This is a great way for viewers who are already interested in your video content to stay up-to-date with your brand or blog.
5. Collect Email Addresses At In-Person Events
If you’ve ever been to a Bloguettes event, then you know we always have a handy-dandy clipboard at our check-in table ready to collect our attendees’ email addresses! Print out a simple sign-up form or have an iPad or laptop with your email subscription landing page for people to easily give you their info. Don’t host any events? Take your sign-up sheet or iPad with you to things like trade shows and networking events so that you can later import the emails into your database. Just be sure these contacts receive a welcome email that confirms their opt-in to your list, and you’ll be good to go!
