The anticipated launch of iOS 10.3 already has us all on our toes! With notable added features such as Find my AirPods and the hidden keyboard, we can’t wait to get our hands on the new update. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect in the new iOS 10.3 update!
Find My AirPods
With iOS 10.3, you can now keep track of those tiny little AirPods simply by pulling up your Find My iPhone app. However, the feature will only work from whichever device it was previously connected to. If you know for sure they’re hiding somewhere close, there’s an alert feature that sends out a loud sound from the AirPods to locate those pesky little buds! Users are also able to mute the left or right earbud in case they only misplaced one of them.
Apple ID Profile
Managing all of your account information will now be easier now that they are all in one place! With the new profile section added to the Settings app, you can your access your contact info, iCloud, App store, payment info, and more all in a single page! You can also scroll down to see a list of all the Apple devices linked to these accounts.
iCloud Storage Breakdown
Always running out of iCloud storage? Located on the iCloud settings page, just tap the graph at the top to get a breakdown of how that storage is being used and exactly what files are taking up all that much-needed space. Every bit counts!
Weather in Maps
Packing for a trip and don’t know if you should bring a light sweater? Never fear again, because this new feature has you covered! You can now view the current weather conditions for that specific area by using the 3D Touch shortcut without actually opening the app.
Floating iPad Keyboard
In iOS 10.3, there’s a hidden option that replaces the iPad’s keyboard at the bottom of the screen with a one-handed keyboard. It looks like the iPhone keyboard and can be dragged around and placed anywhere on the screen!
App Animation Changes
Apple made a mini change to the transition animation between apps. They now have more rounded edges when they open and close!
Great news for all Verizon users! With AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint already on board, Verizon users can now make and answer calls from any iCloud connected Macs, Apple Watches, iPads and iPods, even if your iPhone isn’t nearby.
For all those Podcast lovers out there, you can now add that widget to your Spotlight search screen!
The up and coming feature in CarPlay will allow you to easily switch between the three last used apps without accessing the home screen. You can also locate EV charging stations!
Apple File System
iOS 10.3 will automatically update your iPhone and iPad to Apple File System (APFS), which means stronger encryption and better optimization for NAND flash storage!
With so many noteworthy changes, be sure to keep an eye out for the release date this year!
