Savannah – Events Intern

Introduce yourself!

Hi my name is Savannah and I’m from Louisiana! I am the oldest of five and I have a blue Doberman named Willow who takes over my Snapchat!!

Where are you going to school and what is your major? Why did you choose that major?

I am a junior at Arizona State and I am majoring in Communication and Minoring in Special Event Management. I chose this major because I love how broad the field of study can be. I know that when I graduate I will have many options for a career.

What is your ideal career and why is that something you strive for?

I hope to one day be a large-scale event coordinator. My ideal job would be planning red carpet events, the Golden Globes, SAG-AFTRA, or the Academy Awards. I also love seeing my vision come to life in events I have planned. It would be so amazing to see it on an even larger scale!

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to read and watch old movies. When I have extended free time, I love to travel! Domestically and abroad. I also have my  own website where I share my photography!

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If I could have one meal for the rest of my life, I think it would be my mama’s chicken spaghetti and stuffed pistolettes… a true southern, soul-food dish!

What is your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment is moving across the country to start school without knowing anyone. Too many people I know leave home and end up going right back without even giving their new life a chance! I have been given so many opportunities I never would have heard of if I had gone back to Louisiana. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.

Katrina – Marketing Intern

Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone! I’m Katrina! Here’s a little bit about myself. I am from Sacramento, California, I’m but currently living in the desert for college. You’ll quickly find out that I love fashion, social media, blogging, adventuring, traveling to new places, food, people, and creating new memories. I’m a total people person and love to connect with so many creative individuals out there. I also find joy in documenting all my experiences and capturing amazing moments through photography. In the center of my life is Jesus Christ, because without Him as my Savior none of this would be possible.

Where are you going to school and what is your major? Why did you choose that major?

I’m currently going into my senior year at Grand Canyon University (Lopes Up). For the first two years of college, I was unsure of my passions and what I really wanted to pursue. As of last year, I switched to a communications major and completely fell in love. I quickly realized I enjoyed the classes, found job opportunities I would thrive in, and started to create a platform for myself. Grand Canyon’s mission is for their students to find their purpose. I can say I’ve found my purpose and the path I want to walk down after graduation.

What is your ideal career and why is that something you strive for?

My ideal career is to work in the marketing and PR field but emphasizing in social media. For the past year, I have worked with companies through Instagram to promote fashion products. I have done modeling and brand ambassador gigs and have really grown to love the industry!

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to go on photoshoots and collaborate with bloggers and photographers. When I’m not busy with work and school, I am a brand ambassador on the side. I work beside fashion companies on Instagram and promote products on my page as a fashion blogger. I love being connected to the social media world and getting to be creative with others who have the same passions. You can also find me at any cute coffee shop or restaurant. Considering Phoenix is a foodie state, I’m always on the lookout for cute places around the area. Lastly, whenever there is a chance, I like to jump on any opportunity to travel and see the world.

What’s your favorite piece of clothing in your closet right now?

It’s impossible for me to choose a favorite clothing item in my closet. I love fashion and honestly can say I’m a shopaholic. I’m always on the lookout for cute outfits and always stay on top of the latest fashion trends. If I had to choose one style, I’d say I always turn to rompers and dresses. They are easy and quick to throw on and can be dressed up with cute jewelry and a hat. You can easily find me at Forever 21, Free People, Francesca’s, Urban Outfitters, and Nordstrom Rack.

If you could be an extra on a TV show, what show would you pick?

If I was able to be an extra on any TV show I would pick “Friends.” I have re-watched this show on Netflix over and over. It’s honestly one of those shows that can always make you smile and laugh no matter what. It’s also so easy to connect with all the characters and I would love to be in an environment with such a fun, outgoing cast! I’m such an extroverted person that I would love to be a part of such a successful lively show.

Nikki – Creative Intern

Introduce yourself!

Hi, my name is Nikki Villatoro and I’m a twenty-two year old Pisces born and raised in Tempe, Arizona.

Where are you going to school and what is your major? Why did you choose that major?

I’m a senior studying Visual Communication at Arizona State University! Growing up, I’ve always been into the artsy type of things. Whether it was drawing, painting or photography. It wasn’t until high school where I found out about graphic design and ended up loving it and pursued it as I career. I personally love studying graphic design at ASU because it doesn’t just focus on the computer side of things, it focuses on all platforms. Whether it’s drawing, typography, websites, creating three-dimensional things, and of course, anything print based.

What is your ideal career and why is that something you strive for?

I geek out on brands a lot, so my ideal career is working for a company with a consistent brand, which is weird to say. But, it’s common in studios to focus on many companies at once and brand them individually. I think being able to brand yourself and being recognized for it is just as important. Consistency is very hard, but the end product is flawless.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I like to keep myself busy, whether it’s going to my yoga classes, cycling, playing soccer, or focusing on my own personal projects.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is a little bit of everywhere. I like to think my clothing and graphic style go hand-in-hand: I’m either very modern and simple or street. It goes with however I feel at the moment.

What is something about you that would surprise most people?

I think the thing that surprises most people is the fact that I don’t drink tea or coffee! As much as I wish I went to cute coffee shops, I haven’t acquired that taste yet.

Ananza – Events Intern

Introduce yourself!

My name is Ananza Hairston and I was born in Los Angeles, California.

Where are you going to school and what is your major? Why did you choose that major?

I am currently a senior at Arizona State University with a major in business communications. When I first started at ASU I had no idea what career I wanted to pursue. One thing that I knew for sure is that I definitely wanted to be a part of something extraordinary. When I was younger, I wanted to be a fashion designer or design stylist, but as I got older, I realized that those were not natural talents of mine. My freshman year I was an undeclared business major but I ended up declaring communications my sophomore year once I decided I wanted to get into public relations.

What is your ideal career and why is that something you strive for?

My ideal career is to become a fashion publicist which dips into the business and the hands-on part of the fashion industry. One of my biggest inspirations is Kelly Cutrone, who is a well-known fashion publicist that you may have seen on The Hills. I admire her no-nonsense approach to her business and her passion for PR and success. I strive to one day open my own PR firm but my ultimate goal is to be successful in whatever direction life takes me.

What do you do in your free time?

I am actually really into YouTube beauty and lifestyle videos and I have been for about 7 years now. I love to watch makeup, fashion, and beauty related tutorials as well as everyday vlogs from some of my favorite beauty/lifestyle “gurus.” I also really enjoy shopping, trying new places to eat, and anything outdoors and adventurous.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and what would you want to see?

If I could travel anywhere in the world today, it would have to be between Paris or somewhere tropical like Aruba or the Fiji Islands. I unfortunately have never been out of the country, so once I have the chance to travel I want to go everywhere and experience the different cultural values and aspects offered around the world.

Who is someone you admire and why?

I really admire my mother who honestly has done so much for me; from her constant motivation, to her unconditional love and support. She is a very hard working woman and I admire her strong work ethic, patience, and her kind and positive attitude towards everything. Without her, I would not be a Bloguettes intern and for her, I am so grateful!

Anna – Events Intern

Introduce yourself!

My name is Anna Davis! My hometown is Minneapolis, Minnesota and I am definitely a northern girl at heart living in Arizona. I came out West because I am a huge travel enthusiast and love experiencing new places and cultures! From the snow to the desert, I am so happy to be here.

Where are you going to school and what is your major? Why did you choose that major?

I am currently a sophomore at Arizona State University pursuing a major in business communications. I chose this major because communications covers a wide range of subjects such as advertising, public relations, and much more. This gives me opportunities to learn about many different aspects of the business world.

What is your ideal career and why is that something you strive for?

My ideal career is being a creative director of a fashion or branding company. I strive for this because I am passionate about design and aesthetic. Understanding the importance of brand portrayal is a key factor for me.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I try to spend as much time outdoors as I can. Since my family likes to travel a lot, whether I am out of the country or in my hometown, I like to soak up as much of the environment around me as possible. I also love to draw, paint, and take as many pictures as I can!

What is your biggest fear?

My biggest fear has always been getting lost! Whether I am getting lost in a place or getting lost in life, having no sense of direction is very scary to me.

If you could hang out with a celebrity for a day, who would it be & what would you do?

If I could hang out with a celebrity for a day, it would be Grace Coddington. She is the Creative Director of Vogue magazine and I have always admired her, not only career-wise, but also as a person. We are both cat ladies, which makes it even better! I would probably spend a day out in New York City with her.
