As all Netflix-junkies know, video is one of the most easily digestible forms of media. In the social media world, video is also one of the most popular forms of media, which is why Cisco predicts that by 2017 more than 69% of all consumer traffic will be from videos alone.
In order to keep up with this trend, Instagram announced last week that they will now allow videos of up to 60 seconds in length to be shared across the platform. This is a huge change, since the previous maximum length for videos was 15 seconds!
Over the past six months, Instagram says video-watching on the platform has increased by 40%, and it will slowly roll out this new feature to its users throughout the month of April. Since this feature will also apply to Instagram’s advertisements, this will be a huge opportunity for brands to show off more diverse content.
Additionally, iOS users can now use multiple video clips from their Camera Roll and make them into one video clip within the app. Click here to learn how!
We can’t wait to play around with this new feature, and hope that you and your brand can have some fun with it too! Plus, this means longer videos of Selena Gomez and other lovable celebs, too–no complaints here!
