We all know the drill: take a picture, add a filter, create the perfect caption, and formulate the perfect combination of useful and witty hashtags. If you’re like us, you probably stick to the same couple of hashtags, and typing them all (and remembering them) can be a chore!
We’ve come up with a little trick to help keep various groups of hashtags at your fingertips! All you need is an iPhone, and just follow these steps:
Open the Notes app
Type out the group of hashtags you want to use
Copy all of the text
Open the Settings app
Tap General > Keyboard > Text Replacement > “+”
In “Phrases,” paste your hashtags (i.e. #bloguettes #bloggers #fashionblog)
In “Shortcut,” type what word you want to trigger the hashtags (i.e. eventsh)
Tap “Save” in the top right corner
From here, when you want to use this group of hashtags in an Instagram caption or comment, just type out your Shortcut (i.e. eventsh) and your phone will replace the Shortcut and auto-populate your hashtags! It’s that easy.
To make it a little easier on yourself, divide your hashtags into groups! Maybe you have a group of hashtags when posting about your blog, and a separate group of hashtags when posting about a product or place. Just name your Shortcuts accordingly so that they’re easy to remember!
