Meet Lauren! She started as our editorial intern over the summer and is now our Associate Editor! She’s in charge of everything related to the blog and spends her days writing and editing. Get to know Lauren and learn her 5 tips for creating great online content!

What is your favorite part about working at Bloguettes?

I love being able to incorporate creativity into my job. I never thought I would have a job where I would be inspired every single day, and I’m so glad I do! I also love working with all of the girls here at Bloguettes and I’m so thankful for all of the friendships I’ve made.

Name 3 skills you need to be successful in your job position.

To succeed in my position, I need to be organized, detail-oriented, and innovative. It’s important to be organized so everything with the blog runs smoothly, and I also have to be detail-oriented so that no grammar errors slip through the cracks! Finally, when it comes to writing, I have to be innovative and think outside of the box!

Finish this sentence: The motto of my life is…

The motto of my life is to be kind to everyone you meet, and also to not take life too seriously!

What do you like to do in your free time?

When I have free time, I love just spending time with my family and friends. I also love reading other blogs for inspiration!

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always loved looking at magazines when I was younger, so I wanted to be a magazine editor!

What is your favorite part about blogging?

I think blogging is such a great way to connect with an audience on a personal level. Whether you blog as a hobby or you blog for business, it gives your readers an inside look at your perspective on life. Having a blog gives you a platform to express your ideas and voice your opinions!

What are your top 5 tips for creating great online content?

Lauren's 5 Tips for Creating Great Online Content

    Know your reader. Knowing who your readers are is the first step in creating great online content! This will help you determine what to write about and how to go about writing it.

    Research, research, research! When writing online content, or any kind of content for that matter, you can never do enough research! Make sure to always check your facts and use great sources for your information. This will make you credible!

  3. 3

    Keep it short & sweet. When browsing the web, we jump from page to page within seconds. So, when creating any kind of online content, remember that bite-sized pieces work best! Break long paragraphs into shorter ones and use headers to your advantage! This will make your content easier to digest.

    Spice it up! Going off of the previous point, no one likes to see large chunks of text online. A great way to add visual interest to your content is to add in images or even infographics that correspond with your content! Here at Bloguettes, I get to work with the creative team to make our content pop!

    Make it actionable. Great online content gives readers advice on how they can apply the lessons from your content right away. It leaves them feeling excited to try out the tips you provided! So, when creating online content, remember to keep the best interest of your readers in mind so that they can become better with your expertise!
