Meet our little babe, Kian! While she may be quiet on the first impression, we can reassure you that she’s got a whole lotta talent, kindness, and just the right amount of fun & adventure brewing on the inside! She’s an amazing writer and is the author behind a lot of the articles you see on our blog. She has her own blog, Sincerely Twenty, and is constantly looking for ways to take Bloguettes’ blog and her own blog to the next level! Get to know our sweetheart and read her interview below!

Where are you from and what brought you to Arizona?
I was born and raised in a boring suburb of Chicago, IL. I originally moved to Arizona for college and to escape the cold. I absolutely love the opportunities here! California, Vegas, and Mexico are just a drive way!

What is your major in college and why?
I recently switched to design management with a certificate in marketing. I love everything creative, but the business side of things also interests me. I think design management is a great balance of all my passions!

If you weren’t living in Arizona, where would you like to live?
While visiting colleges, I fell in love with Nashville, TN! Although, after being in Arizona I’m not so sure I want to move back to the Midwest. I think I am pretty satisfied in Arizona for a bit, but when I do decide to move, I’ll probably consider California for the beaches!

Do you have any nicknames?
So many! Where do I start? Well, my name is pronounced like cayenne pepper so that created a bunch of nicknames on it’s own. Pepper, Pep, Salt, Keen, Keener, Kiki, Ky-Ky, Keeks, Kdog. I think I covered them all haha.

Describe your dream job.
My dream job would probably be working for myself. Starting a business similar to the aesthetic of Bloguettes or running a one-man show creating a wide range of online content. I definitely envision myself doing something creative and having a flexible schedule to travel. A 9-5 has never really been my thing.

What do you love best about working for Bloguettes?
That it doesn’t feel like work! Everything I get to do is something that lets me express my creative interests, it just never feels like work, which is amazing. I also am surrounded by so many talented and driven women. I get inspired by their interests and I am constantly learning new things.

Which types of blogs do you like best, and who are your favorite bloggers?
I enjoy a wide range of blogs; fashion and lifestyle blogs are great! I also like blogging-related blogs (if that makes sense). I’m a sucker for a good tutorial or how-to post, some of my favorites are Angie Makes and The Wonder Forest. I actually recently discovered a fitness blog called BaseBodyBabes, I seriously drooled over their Instagram for a solid 30 minutes last night.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I usually like hanging out with my friends or boyfriend, going out to eat is probably my favorite activity. I also have a great appreciation for alone time. I love watching YouTube videos, going on mini photoshoots (to improve my amateur photography skills), or working out occasionally. I also take on new interests all the time! For example, last year I got into pole fitness. This summer I started a blog, which I definitely have neglected, but I plan to pick it up again once I’m done here.

Describe your personal style.
My style is pretty casual and laidback. Occasionally I’ll add a pair of leather pants or knee high boots to spice things up. An oversized shirt, comfy jeans, and booties are really all I need.

What’s your favorite social media channel and why?
I am absolutely obsessed with YouTube, it is by far my favorite social media channel. I’ll watch a fitness video of Nikki Blackketter while making breakfast, fashion videos between classes, and daily vlogs during my cardio sessions. I have always had an interest in videography, videos just bring creative content to a whole new level. Really makes an experience instead of just scrolling through photos on Instagram.

At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?
My therapist would probably advise me not to answer this due to my shopping addiction (jokes). I would definitely say Marshalls Home Goods. There are times where I go to three different Marshall locations in one week. They seriously have everything I could ever want: home decor, clothes, shoes, accessories, and beauty products! Once I even won a $500 gift card from doing the survey on the receipt! #blessed

How has being part of the Bloguettes team influenced you and your career path?
Being a part of the Bloguettes team has helped me realize the importance of following your passions no matter what other people think. It is so inspiring to be around such confident and successful women! I have also discovered a greater passion for blogging, photography, and event planning. Working at Bloguettes has definitely set a framework of what I want my career to look like and made me realize that you really can enjoy “working” if you’re passionate about it!
