Savannah is the Arizona-based artist and blogger behind Savannah Ashley, where she shares snippets of her day-to-day life, in addition to her art. Her creations are adorable and inspiring, and include dream catchers, crosses, and wood signs–all sold in her Etsy shop!
How long have you been blogging/in the business? I just started blogging after I went to the Bloguettes workshop! I started pursuing selling my art a month before I went to the Bloguettes workshop.
How did you come up with the idea? Multiple people have told me to pursue my art but I never had enough confidence in actually doing it until the Bloguettes taught me all the tools about branding, Photoshop, & the confidence to do it.
What was the hardest part in getting started? Getting the blog set up has been the hardest part about getting started.
How do you maintain a balance between other aspects of your life and your blog/business? I tend to do it in my free time and I’m really passionate about it so it has been easy to do so far!
How do you stay connected with other bloggers and creatives like yourself? I am trying to figure out how to do that right now. I just recently did my first two markets and have one more coming up so I have met a lot of creatives at those markets. Also social media like Instagram has been a great connection tool.
What’s your favorite social media channel for personal use? I personally really love Instagram because it is quick & easy to use. It also reaches random people all over.
What’s your favorite social media to use for business/blog related stuff? I haven’t discovered the right social media for that yet. I just opened an Etsy Shop so I think that will benefit selling my art.
Who do you look up to? I look up to the Bloguette ladies for all they know about blogging and the business side of things! I look up to them for sharing their knowledge with others.
What advice do you have for others? My advice would be to share your knowledge with other creatives! To pursue your dreams! Take the first step by gaining more knowledge!
What’s the best advice you’ve received? To take time for dreaming. Dream big and pursue them, you never know what will happen!
