Meet our newest member, Becca! She’s the editorial assistant at Bloguettes and we could not have asked for a better person to fill the position! We adore her quirky personality & her ability to pick up any task at hand and tackle it like no other! To hail her even more, she has a side photography business where she gets to direct & show off her creative capabilities! To get to know our dearest Becca, read on!

What do you love most about working at Bloguettes?
The working environment! I love how all of our desks face each other–it makes it really easy to collaborate and bounce ideas off of each other. All of the girls have their own area of the company that they specialize in and are great resources for when I have questions or want to learn something new. On my first day, I was so shocked at how similar some of our interests are! I was sitting at my desk thinking “Wow, these people totally get me!”

Name 3 things you need to be successful in your job position.
Organization, communication, and prioritization!

Finish this sentence: The motto of my life is…
Dream big, work hard, stay focused & surround myself with good people. I’m a big believer that if you work hard towards a goal, you will reach it.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Though I’m more of a social person, when I’m not working or spending time with my friends, I totally nerd-out and binge on some good books. Last summer I read like 15 books on my Kindle—it’s dangerous how easy it is to buy books on that thing! I’m really into non-fiction and autobiographies right now. One of my favorite non-fictions is Primates of Park Avenue, where an anthropologist studied the lives of mothers on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It was such an easy read and I got so many fun facts out of it. I also do photography on the side and love scrolling through Instagram and Pinterest for creative inspiration!

How would you describe your personal style?
I love to pair simple basics with fun or more personal accessories. One of my favorite recent purchases was a pair of rose gold slip-on sneakers! I’ll usually pair them them with cuffed skinny jeans and a cute top. At home, my bedroom is almost all white, but I have this amazing fur throw on my bed that really adds a pop of color and texture. I like to keep decor minimal at home, but I have a wall of square prints from Parabo that add a fun personal touch.

What are your 3 favorite emojis and why?
Right now, my 3 most-used emojis are the blushing face, the sassy girl, and the wine glass. The blushing face I always use in place of a regular smiley face – I just feel it’s cuter than your average “smiley” and it’s much more humble. The sassy girl I use when I’m being sassy, obviously. One time, I literally photoshopped my face onto the emoji and used it as my Twitter profile picture for like a month (no shame). And the wine glass is a given! Who doesn’t use that to see if their roomies are down for happy hour??

Where’s your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?
The last time my best friend was in town from the Bay Area, I took her to The Yard in Tempe. She’s never lived in a college town before, and everyone who goes there is usually young and fun. We went for happy hour and also split their pretzels and fondue (which is to DIE for!). It’s a good place to meet new people and start off a fun night!

What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
After I graduated from college, I made a profile on an international nannying website because I wanted to travel before entering the “real world” of adulthood. A couple days later, a cute Italian family messaged me, we made an appointment to Skype, and we booked my ticket to Italy the next day! I didn’t speak any Italian, didn’t know the family at all, and had never even been a nanny! It was kind of scary to think about, but once I got there and met the family, I had an amazing summer (and ate some really good food)!

What thought or message would you put in a fortune cookie?
You will live a long time—long enough to eat many, many fortune cookies. (#goals)

Who would you say is your role model? Why do you admire him/her?
I have a total girl crush on Emma Watson! I’ve loved her ever since her early days as a young Hermoine. I really admire how classy and sophisticated she is, and I think she is a super talented writer as well.
