Meet our co-founder Lorena! She’s the visionary of the Bloguettes and because of her kind and caring spirit, we all look up to her as our ‘work mom’! She’s always bursting with great ideas and constantly tries to find ways to improve and grow the company. Lorena is a lover of all French Bulldogs, especially her beloved piggie Lena, & is a huge advocate for taking your business or brand into your own hands which is exactly why Bloguettes was started! Read her interview and make sure to watch her mini video interview!
What do you love most about working at Bloguettes?
I love the whole experience of working at Bloguettes. I can’t believe how much we have grown in this past year! Coming to the office and seeing a fun and creative group of girls is always a great start of the day. Also, I love working here because no day is exactly the same! We are growing and it’s exciting to meet new people every day and take on new challenges!
Name 3 things you need to be successful in your job position.
Picking only three is hard! I think success is based on three things, and there is no secret: Hard work, perseverance, and passion and a good attitude!
Finish this sentence: The motto of my life is…
“The only thing I can’t achieve is what I believe that I can’t.” You meet a lot of people being in the business community. I’ve met so many people that have fought to get to where they are right now. I think to become successful, you have to have high confidence and work extremely hard. I don’t think you need to be born into a rich family to become rich or be born into an actor’s family to become an actor. If you work hard, you can ultimately achieve anything you want.
What do you like to do in your free time?
What free time?? (Ha! But seriously…) My work hours are crazy right now, but in my free time I love spending time with husband and friends! My husband exercises a lot and when it’s not burning hot outside, we like to take our dogs to the dog park. We love trying new restaurants and always try to see the new movies that are out! Sometimes, we go twice a week!
How would you describe your personal style?
I’d say I have a classic style. I wouldn’t consider myself too fashion forward. I like clothes that I’ll be able to wear for the next few years and thanks to Bloguettes, my work style is the same as my weekend style!
What are your 3 favorite emojis and why?
- Monkey Covering Its Face: I think this one let’s you get away with anything! Like when you forget to bring food home for dinner…I assume I am forgiven as soon as I text this! (Or so I hope!)
- Twin Girls Dancing: I can just text this and my girlfriends know that I wanna go out and do something, no boys allowed hahaha!
- The Side Eye Face: No explanation needed! I love this one.
Where’s your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?
I love True Food Kitchen! Their Tuscan Kale Salad is my favorite! I used to hate kale, but after I tried their salad, I loved it! I just think True Food has a good balance–you can choose to eat healthy, but they have burgers and sweets if you want those too!
What is one movie you will never get tired of watching?
It’s a little bit embarrassing, but I think I’ve watched the Harry Potter movies more than anyone I know! (This where the monkey emoji would apply!).
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a biologist! I love animals and when I was little, I thought that would be the best way to be close to them all the time and save the endangered species. Even now, I would love to take part in a bigger conservationist organization–I still have that passion!
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
QUESADILLASSSSSSSS!! I don’t need any of those super complicated quesadillas with tons of ingredients. Just cheese and green salsa is all I need!
