Meet Alexis! She’s seriously creative and super artsy, so we love having her on the Bloguettes team to help us make things look good! From photos to random art projects, she’s our go-to girl. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also in the running for Miss Arizona USA–we’ll be rooting for you, Alexis!
Where are you from and how did you end up in Arizona? I was born in Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles. I moved to Scottsdale when my parents decided they did not want to raise me in such a rambunctious and fast-paced city!
If you could live anywhere and have your dream job, where and what would you be doing? My dream job would be in high fashion. I hope to be a creative coordinator or on a design team for a large magazine such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Allure, or InStyle. I would love to live in New York, Milan, or a treehouse. Literally.
What do/did you study in college and what do you hope to do with it? I am studying English Literature with a minor in Studio Arts. I hope to use my creativity in anyway possible, preferably in the fashion industry. My mother lives in Milan, Italy and my plan is to move there as well after graduating. I want to attend University of Milan for graduate school before looking for a high fashion or magazine/editorial position. Milan is the fashion capital of the world and will be a prime location for me to find a job in this area.
What do you love best about working for Bloguettes? I love the atmosphere of the office, the positivity of all my coworkers, and the experience it gives me as a young job-seeking adult! The job is effortless because I genuinely enjoy my time in the office.
What is your favorite type of blog and/or favorite bloggers? I have way too many favorite followings to count, but I follow the Free People blog daily. I love personal style blogs that also include daily ramblings or situational input because it helps me get a feel for who the blogger actually is- which gives their style a whole new meaning to me.
What do you like to do in your free time? In my spare time I love to write! I have a daily prompt I usually answer- it keeps my writing up to date and you never know when a short paragraph can lead to some self discovery. I am also a bookworm and hot yoga junkie.
Describe your personal style. I would say my personal style is 50% hippie flower child, 25% grunge, and 25% baseball t-shirts. I switch between soft, delicate, lacey pieces and black or leather statements followed by some sort of boot or bootie. I also can’t live without my Converse.
How has Bloguettes influenced you and your career path? Bloguettes has definitely solidified my passions for fashion, social media, and writing. It has only positively affected my life. I’m surrounded by an amazing team of girls that motivate me daily to continue pursuing my dreams.
