Meet the Interns: Ricki

We’d love to introduce you to Ricki! She’s on our events & operations team and works to make all of your Bloguettes experiences perfect! We can’t get enough of her easygoing personality and occasional sarcastic comments. Ricki would love to work as a fashion buyer after graduation and travel the world. She actually already has some traveling under her belt; she spent the past summer overseas in China and Thailand!

Where are you from and what brought you to Arizona?
I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and I love the year-round perfect weather so much that I just don’t want to leave!

What is/was your major in college and why?
I am currently a junior Arizona State University and majoring in marketing and supply chain management with a minor in special events. Once I graduate, I hope to be a buyer or distributor for a major clothing company.

If you weren’t living in Arizona, where would you like to live?
Definitely New York City. Aside from Arizona, New York is easily my favorite place in the world. There’s always something to do there and the NYC vibe is so addictive you just can’t help but act like a New Yorker yourself.

What is your go-to comfort food?
Mac n’ cheese. Need I say more?

Describe your dream job.
My dream job is to be a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City that travels around the world to find new clothing products. It would be like a non-stop shopping spree!

What do you love best about working for Bloguettes?
Everything! All of the women I work with are so driven and intelligent, not to mention have the best fashion sense. It’s not hard to always look forward to coming into the office when I work in such a fun environment.

Which types of blogs do you like best, and who are your favorite bloggers?
I love lifestyle and traveling blogs! I am constantly reading Tasmania native Brooke Saward’s blog, World of Wanderlust. Her job is to travel to new and exciting places around the world and blog about it. Who wouldn’t want to do that? I love seeing what new destination she is going to next. You could say I try to vicariously live through her and daydream that I’m actually where she is instead of sitting in class.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time you can usually find me hanging out with friends and discovering trendy new spots to eat. I also spend a lot of time pinning on Pinterest. My favorite boards are food, travel, and fashion!

Describe your personal style.
My personal style depends on what my mood is. Some days I want to be shabby chic, other days I want to dress super girly. No matter what, my personal style is comfortable and well put together. If I’m not comfortable in what I’m wearing, I’m not confident.

What’s your favorite social media channel and why?
Instagram. I like to see what all of my friends are doing! It makes me feel like I am still a part of their lives even though I may not actually be there to participate in all the fun shenanigans they are getting into!

What’s your must-have app (besides Instagram, FB, Pinterest, etc.)?
VSCOcam. It’s my go-to app when editing pictures for my Insta.

How has being part of the Bloguettes team influenced you and your career path?
Working for Bloguettes has made me want to be even more driven than I already am in my endeavors, as well as, be the best version of myself in everything I do. Being an event & operations intern has made me realize that I want to incorporate event planning into my future career!
