Snapchat has been taking the social media world by storm because it gives users the chance to create authentic, unedited content, and embrace their silly side. One of the most fun functions of the app is the constantly updated filter choices. But if you are a Snapchat fanatic, you can run through those filters pretty quickly.
Snow, which launched in September 2015 from developer Camp Mobile, is very similar to Snapchat, but has far more (we’re talking more than 100) filters. They range from cute (Minnie Mouse inspired bow), funny (shark), to the just plain strange (fried egg). There is a filter for basically any enhanced selfie you could dream up. Aside from filters, there are animated characters you can add to your photo and color filters. There is also a GIF maker similar to Instagram’s Boomerang app.
Like Snapchat, the app allows you to send photos that will self-destruct and can only be replayed once. Instead of a “Story” there is a “Live” category where you can post images, but they will last for 72 hours instead of 24. Messages also last longer than 24 hours, instead of disappearing after opened. Aside from many more filter options, Snow has Snapchat beat in another major way. You can share photos taken on the app on Facebook and Instagram.
The app is free to download in the App Store or Google Play so be prepared to spend the rest of your day taking a lot of selfies.
