Good news for Squarespace users–integrating your website and Pinterest just got a whole lot easier. In the past, people wanting access to certain Pinterest tools (think the Pin It button and Rich Pins) had to set up code on the backends of their site to do so.
But now, with a recently announced partnership between Pinterest and Squarespace, all Squarespace users are able to easily add a Pin It button to their site, and are automatically able to use Rich Pins. For those of you who may not know, Rich Pins are huge for businesses, as they allow pinners to embed additional information within their pins, making them more valuable and credible in the eyes of other pinners.
Squarespace sites will also be provided with more improved Pinterest analytics. In the past, one of the biggest indicators of a site’s success on Pinterest was the amount of repins content would get. The new analytics will now provide data for Pins that have been added by people pinning directly from websites (and not just repinning from the source), painting a more complete picture of how the site’s content fares on Pinterest.
