Our little Bailey (previous video extraordinaire) officially left for Chicago the other day, but not before she transformed the entire planning mentality at Bloguettes. One day, she glided into the office with a thick spiral-bound planner loaded with pastel colored washi tape along with her ridiculously perfect handwriting. We “oo-ed” & “aww-ed” as she flipped through each page and after a few weeks, Bailey’s organizational methodology spread like wildfire. Now, when you walk into the office, you’ll see almost everyone at Bloguettes with a planner organized to their liking in tow.
As the new year approaches and goals and upcoming calendars are created, we thought none other than the Queen of Planner Organization herself to give us a few of her tips & tools for creating the perfectly organized planner.
Buy a Solid Planner
Our girl Bailz raved over the 1canoe2 planner. According to the queen, this planner is the “bomb.com” because it’s plain and simple. So many planners have crazy designs and one too many colors splashed all over leaving you little room to decorate and design your planner for yourself. Because the 1canoe2 planner is minimalistic, you can use it however you please! Having blank monthly, weekly, & note options gives the user endless ways to organize and plan!
Whip Out the Washi
Let’s be real. Life is unpredictable. No matter how hard we try and plan out our lives and upcoming events/blog posts/video ideas, things have a tendency to get shuffled around. This is why Bailey introduced the importance of washi tape to all of us in the studio. Planning and writing your ideas is totally fine, but if you do it on washi tape, whenever something gets moved around, you can simply peel off the washi tape and stick it onto the new date. It helps keep your planner clean and not gonna lie, it makes your planner look pretty. Color coding your tape is also super easy if you want to separate work, school, & personal life events! Tip from the master: If you don’t like the thick width of normal washi tape, there are skinny washi tape options that our girl uses on the daily!
Write your ideas on washi tape. When you have to move things around, just peel it off & stick it on a new date!
Hail the Highlighters
Highlighters aren’t anything new, but Bailey has a few tricks up her sleeve to making highlighters really work for you. Most highlighters are neon colored and bleed through the paper. But our sleuthin’ super organizer found these Japanese pastel highlighters that won’t bleed even through the thinnest of planner paper!
Pick the Pencil
Our last tip from the Queen? “Always use pencil because life happens and sometimes, you make mistakes.” Ain’t that the truth?
It’s safe to say we’ll miss our baby Bloguette so much, but to look on the bright side? We’ll always have Bailey in our hearts…and planners.
